Moshe Dlott joined the D.C. office of Caplin & Drysdale as an Associate in 2018. Mr. Dlott is a member of the firm’s International Tax and Private Client practice groups. Prior to joining the firm, he practiced tax at an international law firm in Chicago, Illinois.

Services

Mr. Dlott advises individuals and businesses on federal and state tax issues, with a particular focus on clients in the private equity, hedge fund, banking, and nonprofit sectors. His practice includes:

  • assisting clients in domestic and cross-border mergers and acquisitions, dispositions, and financing;
  • counseling high-net-worth individuals on the formation and operation of onshore and offshore funds; and
  • advising tax-exempt entities on governance, complying with their tax obligations, and unrelated business taxable income.

Mr. Dlott also devotes a portion of his practice to pro bono work. He helps individuals organize, structure, and run their nonprofit organizations.

Highlights

Prior to graduating law school, Mr. Dlott was an Extern at the Internal Revenue Service in the Large Business and International Tax Division. He also served as a Fellow for the U.S. Commodity Futures Trading Commission in the Enforcement Division.

During law school, Mr. Dlott was the Notes Editor for the Northwestern Journal of Technology and Intellectual Property. He also worked as a student attorney for the Bluhm Legal Clinic for Complex Civil Litigation and Investor Protection, and was President of the Tax Law Society.
