Mortimer Caplin Discusses His First-Hand Experience of D-Day

In remembrance of D-Day, the Allied invasion of Normandy on June 6, 1944, Caplin & Drysdale founder, Mortimer M. Caplin, sat down with Derek McGinty of WUSA CBS 9 and Shawn Yancy of FOX 5 to discuss his first-hand experience as part of the initial landing forces on Omaha Beach and his role as a Beach Commander in the U.S. Navy.  He recollected the heroism and the horrors he witnessed and also discussed the French Legion of Honor medal which was awarded to Mr. Caplin for his successful establishment of a battalion on Omaha Beach that repaired boats, assisted wounded soldiers, and provided ammunition.
