Jeffrey Liesemer to Speak at ABA 2013 Business Bankruptcy Committee Meeting

Jeffrey A. Liesemer will take part in a panel presentation entitled "Insurance Basics for Bankruptcy Lawyers" at the fall 2013 meeting of the ABA Business Bankruptcy Committee (Business Law Section).  The panelists will explore the basic, and not so basic, insurance issues that every bankruptcy lawyer should be able to identify.  Expected topics to be covered by the panel include:  insurance proceeds as property of the estate, insurance policies as executory contracts, policy buybacks under Bankruptcy Code section 363, the impact of the automatic stay, and the assignment of insurance rights to asbestos settlement trusts.
