Lauren Smith joined Caplin & Drysdale’s Washington, D.C. office in 2020. Ms. Smith is an Associate in the firm’s Exempt Organizations practice group.
Ms. Smith’s practice centers on assisting tax-exempt organizations on a wide range of complex tax matters.
Highlights
While at the University of Michigan Law School, Ms. Smith served as Contributing Editor for the Michigan Journal of Law Reform. She also worked as a student-attorney at the University of Michigan Low-Income Taxpayer Clinic. During law school, Ms. Smith was an extern at the Internal Revenue Service’s Office of Chief Counsel. Prior to joining Caplin & Drysdale, she provided tax structuring and planning advice on a wide variety of transactional matters at a global law firm
