David Rosenbloom and Peter Barnes Join Panel on Evaluating 2017 TCJA and Biden's Newest International Tax Proposals at ABA 2021 May Tax Meeting

Date: 5/14/2021

Program:Back to the U.S. International Tax Policy Drawing Board: Evaluating the Efficacies (and Inadequacies) of the 2017 TCJA and Biden's Newest International Tax Proposals
Event Sponsor:ABA Section of Taxation, Virtual 2021 May Tax Meeting
Where:

Until the 2017 TCJA, the U.S. international tax regime remained largely unchanged for 31 years. Now, in the wake of the U.S. TCJA and vast implementing Treasury regulations, pressure for further consequential changes in the international tax landscape is coming to a boil both domestically and internationally. Join the Tax Policy Committee on Friday afternoon for a roundtable discussion of the questionable economic assumptions underlying the TCJA’s international tax provisions, how the international tax rules could be improved, and how Biden’s and other current congressional international tax policy proposals dovetail (or don’t dovetail) with the status of multilateral negotiations and standards at the OECD.
