Caplin & Drysdale Moves to New Office at 1200 New Hampshire Ave.
Caplin & Drysdale is delighted to announce that after more than 40 years at One Thomas Circle, we have moved to the west end of Washington, D.C. at 1200 New Hampshire Ave. The Firm is excited to start this next chapter in our new space. “We’ve enjoyed working alongside our architects and designers at Gensler to create a sophisticated and welcoming space with advanced technology and modern co-working areas to best serve our clients and employees.” said John Riggleman, Firm Administrator.
Caplin and Drysdale is deliberately different and so is our new home. Inspiration for the design of the new office was drawn from our expansive private terrace and numerous skylights. Elements of nature were used to inspire textures, patterns, and colors throughout the space. As clients, employees, and guests arrive, they are greeted with unique materials; a large lava stone and copper wall anchor the elevator lobby experience. At the heart of the space and directly connected to the terrace, are a hospitality-focused work café and a conference room that brings the outdoors in with a wood canopy ceiling and biophilia. The spaces dedicated to collaboration and the large resource hub have feature walls and carpet patterned after the movement of water. The focus of the design is to create a sophisticated space where quality work and excellence can happen.
A particularly exciting feature within the space is our live edge conference table in the main conference room. The live edge table was created from a beautiful old walnut tree that was salvaged from the campus of a local high school.
While the new design is modern, we still pay homage to our history. The signatures of our two founders, Mortimer Caplin and Douglas Drysdale, were molded into bronze and are hanging in our work café.
The new address for our Washington, D.C. office is as follows:
1200 New Hampshire Avenue NW,
