Caplin & Drysdale Welcomes 2022 Summer Associate Class
Caplin & Drysdale is excited to welcome four summer associates to our 2022 Summer Associate Program. For the next several weeks the Summer Associates will work on challenging assignments with our attorneys while receiving guidance and a real-world perspective on life after graduation.
Irene Kwon just completed their 2L year at Yale Law School. They are the Articles Editor of the Yale Journal of Law and Feminism, the Academics & Inclusion Chair of OutLaws, and a member of the Asian Pacific American Law Students Association. Irene received their B.A., with High Honors, in Sociology & Anthropology from Swarthmore College, where they were President of the Swarthmore Fencing Team and was a Terpsichore, ballet, modern and Umfundalai dancer. Irene was previously a Law Student Intern at the Connecticut Parentage Act Clinic and the Movement Lawyering Practicum, both as part of Yale Law School.
Madeleine Smith just finished her 1L year at New York University School of Law. Madeleine is a Dean’s Scholar, the Divestment Committee and Career Committee member for the Environmental Law Society, a member of the Tax Law Association, and a member of Law Women. She received her B. A. summa cum laude, in Political Science from the University of Pennsylvania, where she was a member of the Pi Sigma Alpha National Political Science Honor Society, a Big Sister/Mentor for the Big Brothers Big Sisters organization, a Historical Memory Fellow for CASA Barcelona and she traveled abroad for a semester to Barcelona. She also has experience as an Annotator for the Linguistic Data Consortium in Philadelphia and was a Legal Research Intern at Pollock Cohen LLP in New York.
Alejandra Pazzi is the 2022 Caplin-Swanson Diversity Fellow. Alejandra just completed her 1L year at The Catholic University of America Columbus School of Law where she was awarded the Dean Merit Scholarship, a merit-based full tuition scholarship. She also received her B. S. in International Economics and Finance from The Catholic University of America, where she was on the Academic Dean’s List with Distinction, a member of the University Honors Program, and a recipient of the Father O’Connell Parish Scholarship and the University Honors Scholarship.
Christina Danberg just completed her 1L year at Georgetown University Law Center. Christina is on the Executive Board for GULC Teach-In (civics lessons for local students), a member of the Student Life and Wellness Committee, a member of the Women’s Legal Alliance and a Student Ambassador. She also received her B.A., summa cum laude, in English and Government from The College of William & Mary, where she was a member of Pi Sigma Alpha Political Science Honors Society, Elections Chair for Alpha Chi Omega Sorority, a Member of the Senior Class Gift Committee – Office of Advancement and a Lead Class Ambassador. In addition, she studied abroad for a semester in Athens where she participated in a service trip working with unaccompanied minor refugees in Samos.
