Douglas Varley Comments on New Tax-Exempt Donor Rule
The Republican Trump administration finally got the Treasury Department and the Internal Revenue Service to scrap this month a controversial donor disclosure rule for many tax-exempt groups.

"I don't think it's surprising," Douglas N. Varley of Caplin & Drysdale said about the new donor disclosure rule. But the controversy, he said, is "driven more by political concerns than anything that has to do with actual tax administration."
