Niles Elber Weighs in on IRS Audits Involving Conservation Easements in POLITICO
Attorney General Tish James of New York wants the former president and two of his children to comply with her subpoenas, as she investigates the Trump Organization.
And just this week, she went into great detail about the various allegations against the Trumps, as our Colby Bermel and Marissa Martinez reported — which include the charge that the Trump Organization gave inflated conservation easement valuations to the IRS.

If that’s the case, then the IRS would be well aware of any large charitable donations, according to former IRS Commissioner John Koskinen. Niles Elber, a lawyer at Caplin & Drysdale who’s defended clients in conservation easement cases, added that scrutinizing valuations frequently is a key issue in those audits.
