Peter Barnes Receives Leonard L. Silverstein Award for Distinguished Service in International Tax from Bloomberg Tax

On October 24, 2023, Peter Barnes received the Leonard L. Silverstein Award for Distinguished Service in International Tax from the Bloomberg Tax & Accounting. Mr. Barnes was presented the award at the 2023 Author Awards reception during International Fiscal Association Congress in Cancun.  The award is named in honor of Leonard L. Silverstein, the founder of the Tax Management Portfolios™ and a leading practitioner in the field of taxation for more than 60 years.

Mr. Barnes is Of Counsel in the firm’s International Tax Practice and a Senior Fellow at the Duke Center for International Development ("DCID") at Duke University. He is about to complete his two-year term as president of International Fiscal Association this October. Prior to joining the firm, he was the Senior International Tax Counsel at GE and served as U.S. Deputy International Tax Counsel at the U.S. Treasury Department's Office of Tax Policy, where he represented the U.S. government in treaty negotiations and as a delegate to the Organization for Economic Co-operation and Development.
