Scott Michel Speaks With U.S. Tax Court Chief Judge on Increased Global Tax Litigation at ITEC Session
Global tax litigation is on the rise—and growing in complexity, said Judge L. Paige Marvel, Chief Justice of the U.S. Tax Court, to Caplin & Drysdale’s Scott D. Michel during a one-on-one session at the 5th Annual International Tax Enforcement and Controversy Conference (ITEC) on October 27, 2017. It isn't surprising that there are more international cases, with multinational companies doing business all over the world and cross-border issues growing for individual taxpayers, Judge Marvel said.
Mr. Michel is Founder and Co-Chair of ITEC where in-house and outside tax professionals (both law firms and accounting firms) benefit from hearing what's happening in the trenches from the government, corporate taxpayers and tax practitioners, and learn about recent developments, procedures and practices, cases, and what they mean for their practice.
