Nathaniel R. Miller is an Associate in Caplin & Drysdale’s Bankruptcy and Complex Litigation practice groups.  His practice focuses on complex commercial litigation, with a particular emphasis on creditors’ rights and bankruptcy litigation.

Services

Mr. Miller has considerable experience representing tort creditors’ committees and significant tort creditors in major Chapter 11 bankruptcy proceedings, including those of Aldrich Pump LLC and Murray Boiler LLC; DBMP LLC; Hopeman Brothers, Inc.; AIO U.S., Inc.; Whittaker, Clark & Daniels, Inc.; Kaiser Gypsum Co. and Hanson Permanente Cement; Mallinckrodt plc; and Purdue Pharma L.P.  Mr. Miller also has represented clients in commercial litigation at the trial and appellate levels of state and federal courts, as well as in commercial arbitrations.

Highlights

Mr. Miller earned his undergraduate degree from the University of Pennsylvania and his law degree from the University of California, Berkeley, School of Law.  Prior to joining Caplin & Drysdale, Mr. Miller practiced complex commercial litigation at an international law firm in Washington, D.C.  During law school, he interned for the Office of the White House Counsel, assisting on a variety of administrative, constitutional, and ethical issues.  Mr. Miller also served as the Executive Editor of the Berkeley Journal of Employment and Labor Law and directed the Berkeley Law Workers’ Rights Clinic.  In 2017 and 2018, Mr. Miller was named to the D.C. Bar's Capital Pro Bono High Honor Roll for completing over 100 hours of pro bono work and serving as a coordinator for Legal Aid Society's Generous Associates Campaign.  Before attending law school, Mr. Miller taught 7th grade math and earned a Master of Arts in Education from Loyola Marymount University.
