Irene Kwon returned to Caplin & Drysdale’s Washington, D.C. office in 2023 as an Associate in the International Tax practice group after participating in the firm’s Summer Associate Program in 2022.
Irene’s practice focuses on advising individuals, partnerships, and corporations on the U.S. federal income tax consequences of proposed and completed transactions and assisting them with matters relating to compliance with their U.S. tax obligations, in both wholly domestic and cross-border contexts.
Highlights
While at the Yale Law School, Irene served as the Articles Editor of the Yale Journal of Law and Feminism and Academics & Inclusion Chair of OutLaws. They were also a law student intern for the National Council for Incarcerated and Formerly Incarcerated Women and Girls through the Yale Law School Movement Lawyering Practicum. In 2017, Irene earned a B.A. from Swarthmore College and was awarded the Alice L. Crossley Prize.
